Tasks Involved

1. You develop new visualization approaches, which you implement as interactive software system and evaluate in user studies.

The publication of these approaches in renown journals and conferences gets you in touch with the international scientific community.

Preparing and teaching courses is the basis for collaborating with undergraduate and graduate students.

We offer individual supervision of your research and appreciate good team collaboration. Considering your interests and background, we specify the precise scope of your research in joint discussion. Current research topics that you might contribute to are:

1.      Visualization of networks, hierarchies, and set structures

2.      Visualization of program behavior and software evolution

3.      Integration of text and visualization

4.      Computer-supported editing of data

5.      User studies for evaluating interactive systems
Requirements

1.      Fascinated by data visualization, enjoy creative thinking, and are eager to learn.

2.      Abilities to solve complex problems enable you to think one step ahead.

3.      Enjoy working as part of a team and look forward to developing interactive software systems.

4.      Graduated having good grades with a university degree of at least 8 semesters in computer science or a related area, or are about to graduate within the next three months. Ideally,

5.      Already have previous experience in one of the following topics: visualization, human-computer interaction, software engineering, web development, media communication, visual perception and cognition.

6.      Communicate fluently in English and are willing to learn German.
