la Caixa” Foundation has initiated its Junior Leader postdoctoral fellowships programme. The postdoctoral fellowships programme, Junior Leader “la Caixa” aims at recruiting excellent researchers from around the globe, who wish to continue their research career in Spanish or Portuguese territory. The programme is sponsored by Obra Social ”la Caixa”, and the aim of this programme is to nurture high-quality, innovative research in Spain and to support the best scientific talents by providing them with an attractive, competitive environment in which to conduct excellent research.

45 postdoctoral fellowships at Universities and Research Centres in Spain and Portugal will be provided:

Junior Leader Incoming:
  • 30 postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of all nationalities to conduct a research project at accredited centres with the Severo Ochoa or María de Maetzu distinction of excellence, the Carlos III Health Research Institute in Spain and units and units rated as excellent and exceptional by Portugal’s Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
  • For Spanish institutions, candidates must not have resided in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years while for Portuguese institutions candidates must not have resided in Portugal for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
Junior Leader Retaining:
  • 15 postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of all nationalities to carry out research at any university or research centre in Spain or Portugal.
  • For Spanish institutions, candidates must have resided in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years while for Portuguese institutions candidates must have resided in Portugal for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.

Duration:

Researchers in the Junior Leader “la Caixa” programme will have a 03 year contract in accordance with employment legislation in force in Spain.
