Wageningen University & Research is seeking a PhD student for the project Environmental Next Generation Risk Assessment. This PhD project aims to develop alternative testing strategies for environmental risk and safety assessment of chemicals. The project is a co-operation with Unilever, with the aim to develop alternative testing strategies for environmental risk and safety evaluation of chemicals in the early stage of their development.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have a Master degree or an equivalent degree in Environmental Toxicology, Biochemistry or an associated field in Life Sciences.
- Applicant must have a strong interest and preferably experience in biochemical analyses and modelling of adverse outcome pathways.
- Applicant must possess experience with studies with invertebrate organisms is a preference, as well as experience with linking molecular effects to adverse outcomes.
- Applicant must demonstrate some good organizational, writing and presentation skills and should be able to work both independently and in a team environment;
- are expected to finalize a PhD, combined with a training and supervision trajectory;
- Applicant must possess an excellent command of the English language, both orally and in writing.
Duration: temporary position for a period of 1.5 years with extension of 2.5 years.
