38 PhD positions in the Sustainable Energy Conversion (1,0 FTE).
For the second phase of the MCEC research program, 38 PhD projects have been defined around the following themes:
- Smart Biomass Conversion
- Storing Electricity from Renewable Sources in Chemical Bonds
- Catalyst Diagnostics to Develop More Active Catalysts
Required Qualifications
MCEC is looking for a highly motivated and creative PhD candidate who has:
- An excellent master’s degree or an international equivalent in the relevant fields of Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering and/or Materials Engineering;
- a strong interest in sustainable energy conversion;
- excellent research and scientific writing skills;
- perseverance and an independent, pro-active working style;
- the willingness to look beyond the borders of his or her own discipline and strong motivation to work in a multidisciplinary team;
- excellent collaboration and communication skills (written and verbally) English;
Program: These are a full-time PhD position for 4 years for which the candidate will be provided with generous funding for research and training costs. All selected PhD students will work in a truly international and interdisciplinary environment. This will provide them with an excellent basis and a strong network for a future career in the field of energy, in academia, industry as well as governance.
MCEC is a so-called Gravitation Program, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). The program is co-founded with a grant that has been awarded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND program.
