University of Luxembourg invites applications for 4 PhD Student Positions in Cancer Research Focusing on Tumour Escape Mechanisms. The positions are part of the CANBIO, competitive PhD training program for a total of 18 PhD candidates, supported by the research funding scheme PRIDE of the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). The CANBIO doctoral training unit provides structured PhD training in cancer biology and aims to bridge fundamental cancer research with clinically-oriented applications.
Funding duration: up to 4 years with fixed-term contracts
Earliest start-date: November/December 2018
About the positions:
- The selected PhD candidates will conduct their research project either at the Department of Oncology of the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH, Luxembourg) or at the Life Sciences Research Unit of the University of Luxembourg (Campus Belval, Esch- sur-Alzette).
- The PhD candidates will be enrolled at the doctoral school of the University of Luxembourg.
- The selected candidates will obtain a PhD degree in life sciences, with a focus either on brain cancer, colorectal cancer, melanoma or the tumor microenvironment.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be excellent and highly motivated
- Applicant must hold a Master’s degree in a field related to the topic of the PhD program (MSc or equivalent).
- Applicant must possess fluency in English (working language is English).
