Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites applications for the post of Assistant Chemist under the Ministry of Water Resources River Development and Ganga.
Number of position: 05
Remuneration: As per 7th CPC- Level-8 (Rs.47600-151100/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.47600/-plus D.A. as applicable per month approximately).
Age limit: Not exceeding 30 years (not exceeding 35 years for SC candidates). Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.
Essential Qualification(s):
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Agricultural Chemistry or Soil Science from a recognized University/Institute or equivalent* (*Equivalent degrees to M. Sc. Degree in Chemistry or Agricultural Chemistry or Soil Science is M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry).
- Experience: Two years’ experience in Ground Water Analysis and Ground Water Chemistry.
Role and responsibilities:
- Chemical analysis of water samples including trace elements, heavy metals and organic compounds and assistance to Chemist. Compilation of analytical data of water sample for data quality, computerization of chemical data and preparation of report
- Preparation of water quality reports, submission of progress reports and taking up field chemical analysis as per requirement for specific studies.
- Taking up field studies including on the spot water quality analysis.
Probation: Two years
