5 PhD student positions in Photovoltaics 1802 views

University of Luxembourg is inviting applications for 5 PhD Student Positions in Photovoltaics: Semiconductor Synthesis, Characterization, and Fabrication of Devices. Positions will be funded up to 4 years with fixed-term contracts.

Starting date: September 2019

Role and responsibilities:

  • These projects will be part of the PACE program and will involve close collaboration between the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology.
  • Industrial visits and secondments are foreseen.
  • The PACE program includes transferable skill training, support in career development, scientific lectures by international speakers and annual PhD retreats.
  • The PhD candidates will be enrolled at the Doctoral School of Science and Engineering at the University of Luxembourg.
  • The selected candidates will investigate micro-solar cells for high efficiency applications and investigate multi-junction solar cells for high efficiency applications.

Requirements:

  • Candidate should have or be finishing an excellent master’s degree in one of the following: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Crystallography, Material Science or Solid State Physics.
  • An excellent command of English is required.
