5 Researcher positions; Group Leader (1 position), Research Fellow (2 positions), Early Stage Researcher (2 positions) are now open at ELI-HU Research and Development Non-Profit Limited Liability Company. Location is Extreme Light Infrastrucure Attosecond Light Pulse Source Szeged, Hungary. It’s a Fixed Term contract.

About the Lab:

The Hungarian ELI: the Attosecond Light Pulse Source (ALPS) is the first civilian large-scale research facility based on high-power lasers, the Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI), is to be constructed with international cooperation at three locations with a coordinated management and research strategy.

About the Job:

• Candidates will be assigned to a group whose duty consists in designing, developing & implementing amplified ultrashort pulse laser systems and associated diagnostics.
• Group is also in-charge of the operation and maintenance of the laser systems.

Requirements:

• Applicant must have good English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Some experience in research related to one or more fields of lasers, ultra-short light pulses, optical engineering, & spectroscopic investigations are especially advantageous.
• Applicant must have excellent interpersonal skills as they will be required to interact with an international user community.

For Early Stage Researchers:

1. University students in their last year of an MSc Program in relevant specialization fields (physicist, engineering physicist, electrical engineer or chemist), assuming that they complete their studies by 30th June, 2016.
2. PhD students working in relevant research fields.
3. Early stage researchers or engineers without a PhD degree.

For Research Fellows:

• Scientists or engineers with PhD degree or submitted PhD thesis in relevant research field, or at least 10 years of research experience in a related research institute.

For Group Leader:

• Same as for a research fellow, plus experience in scientific management, track record of applying for research grants.
