ETH Zurich invites applications for a postdoc position in Advanced LCA technique and Material Flow Analysis. The chair of sustainable construction at the Institute for construction and infrastructure management (IBI) is looking for suitable candidate to strengthen the team as soon as possible. The chair of Sustainable Construction was established four years back at ETH Zurich and intends to develop research on the following points:

• The identification of the relevant parameters that influence the environmental impacts of buildings at the international, national and regional levels.
• The quantification of the improvement potential for each specific building material during the various stages of its life cycle.
• The implementation of these sustainable practices throughout the proposition of innovative constructive techniques based on a detailed analysis of the technical, economic and socio-cultural situations.
• This involves various methods and need an interdisciplinary team of architects, civil and environmental engineers and material scientists.

Requirements:

• Applicant must have a strong interest in building materials and a concern for environment.
• Applicant must be proficient in English; proficiency in German will be helpful as it would allow you to be able to discuss with local construction companies.
• Applicant must be eager to publish and submitting research proposal which is a clear objective of the post-doc work.
• In case of successful work, the position can be converted in the future into senior scientist.
