Baylor College of Medicine(BCM): Postdoctoral Associate at The Wehrens lab: Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), The Lydon group’s overall research interest is to identify and characterize key molecular signals that are critical for sex steroid hormone regulation of uterine biology during the peri-implantation period. Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, BCM Main Campus, Houston invites online applications from eligible bright candidate for filling up the Postdoctoral Associate to join the laboratory of Dr. Wehrens, director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Baylor College of Medicine.

About the position: Selected candidates will involve all aspects of cloning, recombinant protein expression, isolation of cardiac myocytes, patch-clamping and/or calcium imaging, and in vivo studies in mouse models of cardiac disease. The Wehrens lab focused on gene therapy and genome editing approaches for the treatment of arrhythmias and heart failure also focuses on the regulation of cardiac ion channels in normal and diseased hearts, with an emphasis on proteins that modulate intracellular calcium handling.  Existing projects focus on deciphering the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure.
