The Belgian American Educational Foundation (B.A.E.F.) opens applications for fellowships for advanced study or research during the A.Y. 2019-2020, at a Belgian University or institution of higher learning.

Number of fellowships: up to 10 fellowships

Fellowship value: $27,000 for Master’s/Ph.D students; $31,000 for Post-doctoral Fellows; health insurance

Starting date: BAEF fellowships 2019-2020 can start between July 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019

Duration: 12 months in Belgium. The minimum fellowship period is 6 months.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be nationals or permanent residents of the US
  • Applicant must either (at the time of application) be registered in a Doctorate or equivalent degree program in the US or while holding the BAEF fellowship register in a graduate program (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Belgium or hold a Master’s, Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Post-doctoral applicants should by July 1, 2018 have no more than 2 years since obtaining their Ph.D. degree.
  • Applicant’s knowledge of Dutch/ French /German is optional.
  • Applicants must make their own arrangements to register or affiliate with a Belgian University or research institution.
  • B.A.E.F. Fellows must stay in Belgium during the fellowship period.
