BioCARe Scheme for Women Scientists: DBT 7404 views

The Department of Biotechnology invites applications from women scientists for Biotechnology Career Advancement and Re-orientation Programme (BioCARe) for Women Scientists. The scheme aims to enhance the participation of Women Scientists in Biotechnology Research. The Letter of Intents (LOIs) is invited under the BioCARe scheme for women scientists.

About the programme:

• The programme is targeted towards Career Development of employed/unemployed women scientists.
• The scheme is open for all areas of Life Science / Biotechnology (including agriculture, veterinary science and medicine).

• Plant & Agriculture Biotechnology
• Compounds of Industrial / Medicinal Utility
• Animal & Marine Biotechnology
• Bio-Engineering, Biomaterials
• Environmental Biotechnology / Bioenergy
• Medical Biotechnology
• Computational Biology

Duration: 3 years

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicant must hold M.D/M. Tech /Ph. D/M.VSc/Equivalent degree in any branch of Life Sciences. (In case of different background of the applicant, the LOI if in one of the areas mentioned in the guidelines- can be submitted).
• Women Scientists who are employed or unemployed or are desirous of coming back after a break.
• Women Scientists for whom it is the first research grant.(Women Scientists who have already availed any research grant as a Principal Investigator from any Government Funding Agency are not eligible to apply).
• Women Scientists upto 55 years of age

Application Procedure:

• Applicants should submit the LOI online 
• The LOI should describe the objectives and work plan through which you intend to achieve the target in the project period.
• The applicants should ensure to fill up all the fields as all fields are mandatory. (max 7 pages)
