Calmette and Yersin funding option are open for PhD degree within the Institut Pasteur International Network. The Institut Pasteur International Affairs Department assigns funding to encourage and facilitate the realization of theses of researchers primarily from low and middle income countries, in an institute within the Institut Pasteur International Network outside France. These grants aim to promote mobility opportunities for young scientists and internship must be completed outside their home country or the country where they attended university. PhD students should be registered at the doctoral school to which the host lab is affiliated, which may belong to a university in France or abroad.
Subject Areas:
- Infectious diseases like infectious patho-physiology/ immunology/ microbiology / epidemiology/ virology/ parasitology
- Public health activities (diagnosis, surveillance, resistance).
Qualifications:
- Applicant must be Master’s or equivalent diploma
- Applicant must complete 5 years of higher education.
- Applicants already started their thesis are not eligible.
- Duration of the program is 3 years.
- This program is open to all nationalities.
- Fellowship: it covers living and insurance expenses depending on the salary scales of the host institute. One return fare between the home country and internship location is also sponsored.
Call for applications: One call for applications every year from January to the end of July.
Assessment criteria for Calmette and Yersin funding:
- The Selection Committee assigns grants based on the project’s significance, the internship objectives and the application itself.
- First step is to find a host lab in the Institut Pasteur International Network
- Note: before submission of the application, candidate must imperatively define, with the host lab, scientific project and starting date of the training.
