The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics has an open position for a highly motivated Computational Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) to join the international team working on chromatin regulation in stem cells, development and disease. The position is available in Stem Cell Chromatin group, headed by Dr. Aydan Bulut-Karslioglu.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will work together with wet-lab scientists and will be responsible for the processing and analyses of next generation sequencing data, particularly related to investigating the epigenome, transcriptome and proteome of cells under various conditions.
- The tasks will include the setup and maintenance of processing pipelines, quality control and analysis of omics data, and integration/visualisation of multiple datasets.
- The position will initially be for two years, and start date is flexible.
Qualifications:
- Candidate should have a PhD degree or a similar qualification in biological, chemical, physical or computational sciences.
- The candidate should have a strong background in statistics and computational biology, including experience in bash programming and common next generation sequencing tools as well as one or more of the following programming languages: C++, JAVA, Perl, Python.
- Knowledge of R programming language is required, as well as basic understanding in molecular genetics.
- The candidate should be also strongly motivated, team-oriented and have excellent communication skills.
