The Heterogeneous Architectures group within the Computer Science department of Barcelona Supercomputing Center is offering a full-time postdoctoral position. The successful applicant will become part of a dynamic research group (currently 13 PhD students and 3 senior researchers) with strong connections to industry (ARM, Bull, NVIDIA, Samsung).
The research group is at the forefront of research in memory systems, energy-efficient systems architecture, for HPC and programming model/runtime support for novel architectures.
The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Science department and the main responsibilities of the position will be related to an ongoing research line in programming model and system software support for novel architectures, in particular task-based programming model support for coherence islands, as part of the ExaNoDe project.
Key Duties
- Mentoring of PhD and Master students
- Play a key role in project proposals, execution, and preparation of deliverables, including for the ExaNoDe project
- Leadership and broad vision in research
- Must be willing to travel regularly
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science or related discipline
- Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and parallel programming models
- Previous experience in contributing to or managing European collaborative projects would be an advantage
- Has made contributions through original research, as evidenced by international peer-reviewed publications and/or patents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure
- Ability to conceive, design, implement and adapt a substantial program of research
- Capacity to interact and build strong relations among diverse members/stakeholder/staff
- Fluency in English is essential
The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department. The contract will be temporary. We offer a full-time contract, a good working environment, flexible hours and a medical assurance. Salary will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate
