A PhD position is available in Computional Biology at the Department of Biology.
Duration: 3 years with the possibility of 1 year extension with 25% teaching duties in agreement with the department. The position is financed by the NTNU.
Main tasks involved are:
- Take part in the development of databases with information for model building
- Extract and curate causal statements for models from public depositories
- Take part in the development of data mining tools
- Work together with wet-lab experimentalists and clinicians to develop new approaches for data mining and biomarker identification.
- Work on the cutting edge of Computer Science and Medicine to help cure cancer!
Qualifications for PhD position in Computional Biology:
- Applicant must hold Master’s in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences or Bioinformatics, or related area.
- Applicant must hold excellent bioinformatics and statistical skills.
- Applicant must be motivated and capable to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Applicant must possess good communication and networking skills.
- Applicant must be able to take initiative (Proactive) and forthcoming, able to work independently, if needed.
