The Conservation Guest Scholar Program at the Getty Conservation Institute supports new ideas and viewpoints in the field of conservation, with an emphasis on the visual arts (including sites, buildings, and objects) and the theoretical underpinnings of the field. The program provides a chance for professionals to undertake scholarly research in an interdisciplinary manner across traditional boundaries in areas of interest to the international conservation community.
Duration: 3 or 6 consecutive months between late September and June
Stipend: $3,500/month; workstation at the Institute; research assistance; airfare to LA; an apartment in the Getty scholar housing complex; health benefits.
Eligibility:
- Applicant can be conservators, scientists, and professionals who have accomplished distinction in the mentioned filed and related fields.
- Applicants must have at least 5 year experience in the mentioned field and must have an proven record of publications and other contributions to the field.
- Grants are not envisioned to fund research for the achieving any academic degree.
- Applicant can be researchers from any nationality.
