The scholarship is offered to support any master’s course at the University. This funding is available for either the traditional one year full time master’s or for two years if the option to split study is taken.
- The value of the scholarship is £2,000-£4,000 per annum aligned to the playing experience of the applicant.
- Daryl Jelinek studied at Loughborough University from 1980 to 1983, where he captained the rugby team as well as playing for England U23s.
- Daryl went on to play rugby for Blackheath, London Scottish, and the Anglo-Scots. When Daryl passed away in July 2018.
- Loughborough University is delighted to offer The Daryl Jelinek Sporting Scholarship to a high-quality rugby union (men’s) individual with Premiership senior academy, Championship, England Students, significant National 1 or equivalent experience.
- The Daryl Jelinek Sporting Scholarship was established by Daryl’s family and friends to create a legacy that will continue to help young people at Loughborough for many years to come.
