David Robins Research Fellow in Urban Geography 673 views

The School of Archaeology Geography & Environmental Science, Division of Geography & Environmental Science at University of Reading is seeking to appoint research fellow in any area of urban geography. This fellowship has been enabled by a generous bequest from the family of David Robins, an alumnus of the Geography Department at the University of Reading who had a distinguished career in town and regional planning, as both an academic and practitioner.

About the fellowship:
  • The fellowship will run for 12 months, starting between 1st October 2020 and 1st January 2021.
  • It is open to applicants who are within 36 months of having passed their viva voce.
  • The applicant must either have been awarded a PhD or have submitted their thesis and passed their viva voce with minor corrections, with the expectation that the PhD will be awarded by the fellowship start date.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in Geography or a related subject.
  • Capacity to produce excellent research publications in urban geography
  • Capacity to deliver effective undergraduate teaching
  • Capacity to carry out independent research in urban geography.
  • Capacity to translate research outputs into wider social impacts.
  • Knowledge of current research and scholarship in urban geography.
  • Experience of conducting independent research.
