DBT-IOC Centre for Advanced Bio-Energy Research is a joint venture of Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) invites applications for posts of Senior Scientific Officers, Research Associate and Project Assistants. The main aim of the centre is on advance research in frontiers areas like Lignocellulosic ethanol, Algal biofuels, Gas fermentation and Bio-hydrogen. Applications are open for purely temporary & tenure track positions.

Duration: 2 years (further extendable as per requirement)

Senior Scientific Officer (SSO)

Number of positions: 2

Remuneration: Approx. Annual salary- Rs 10.6 lakhs

Qualification:

• Applicant must hold PhD in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Life Sciences
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in relevant areas such as Fermentation/Bioprocess development/ Molecular Biology/ Algal Biotechnology.
• Experience in any of the following areas: Molecular/Genetic engineering using traditional cloning, expression and/or modern synthetic biology techniques applicable to microbial system; Microbial strain development, fermentation/bioprocess development shall be preferred.
• Maximum age: 42 years.

Senior Scientific Officer (SSO)

Number of positions: 01

Remuneration: Approx. Annual salary- Rs 10.6 lakhs

Qualification:

• Applicant must hold PhD in Analytical/ Industrial chemistry/ Organic Chemistry
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in relevant areas of Analytical/ Industrial/Organic chemistry.
• Experience in Biofuels area shall be preferred.
• Maximum age: 42 years.

Scientific Officer (SO)

Number of positions: 01

Remuneration: Approx. Annual salary- Rs 9.4 lakhs

Qualification:

• Applicant must hold PhD in Analytical/ Industrial chemistry/ Organic Chemistry.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in relevant areas of Analytical/ Industrial/Organic chemistry.
• Experience in Biofuels area shall be preferred
• Maximum age: 40 years

Research Associate (RA)

Number of positions: 02

Remuneration: Annual salary- Rs 5.6 lakhs

Qualification:

• Applicant must hold PhD in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Life Sciences or Analytical/ Inorganic/ Organic Chemistry
• Background in cloning and expression, Microbial genomics desirable
• Maximum age: 32 years

Project Assistant

Number of positions: 02

Remuneration: Annual salary- Rs 3.1 lakhs

Qualification:

• Applicant must hold M.Sc/BSc in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Chemistry.
• Maximum age: 27 years.
