DeepMind Scholarships: ITU AI

ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Applied Research Center (ITU AI) and DeepMind are excited to announce DeepMind Scholarships. The scholarships will be offered to female graduate students at ITU specializing in artificial intelligence.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  1. Applicants must reside in Turkey.
  2. Applicants must identify as female.
  3. Exclusive to students who are admitted to a M.Sc. or Ph.D. program in ITU Computer Engineering for the Fall 2020-2021 term1. The applicants must apply to the aforementioned programs while applying for the scholarship.
  4. Applicants should be committed to doing original research in the field of artificial intelligence.

Fellowship Benefits:

Duration: Scholarship lasts 4 semesters for the M.Sc. and 8 semesters for the Ph.D. program.
Fellowship: Monthly stipend of 1000 USD.
Equipment: One-off equipment grant of 1500 USD.
Travel: Annual academic travel grant of 2250 USD.

Application Process:

  1. Applicants should send their application documents to info-ai@itu.edu.tr before the deadline.
  2. Required documents:
    CV and academic transcript of the applicant.
    A statement of purpose that details the candidate’s previous research experience in AI, along with the future research objectives for their graduate studies.
    Up to three reference letters.

Timeline:

  1. Deadline for submitting applications September 18th 2020.
  2. Announcement of newly admıtted students to ITU Computer Eng. M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs: September 30th 2020.
  3. Interview with the Scholarship candidates who are admitted to the graduate programs: October 1st-2nd 2020.
