Deutsche Welle Journalism Traineeship 1150 views

Deutsche Welle’s newly-designed traineeship takes the candidate around the world in just 18 months. Internships with the English and German editorial departments give recipient a chance to look into economic and cultural issues as well as news and sports. Selected candidate will also be active in at least one of DW’s other broadcast language departments such as the Chinese, Farsi or Spanish department, and support them according to your language skills.

Duration: 18 months

Requirements:

  • Applications are invited form young people from all over the world interested in a comprehensive, exceptional quality journalism program with an international broadcaster.
  • Applicant must have journalism experience or be passionate about switching to journalism from technology/IT, economics or the sciences.
  • Applicant must be an open-minded person, full of creative ideas.
  • DW trainees are involved in long-term innovative, international projects and have been honored in past years with the CNN Journalism Award and the Grimme Prize.
  • For the bilingual DW traineeship: English native speakers with a good working knowledge of German; German native speakers with an excellent working knowledge of English; Native speakers of another DW program language with a good, working knowledge of both English and German
  • Applicant must have completed a university or college degree or apprenticeship.
  • Applications are accepted from students who can provide proof of having completed an apprenticeship or have graduated from a journalism school and have several years of experience as journalists.
  • All applicants are required to include certified certificates of their qualifications in the form of pdf documents.
