The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oldenburg is offering a position for a Doctoral Candidate (m, f, d) in the Institute of Chemistry. The position is available in the research group “Bio-Inspired Coordination Chemistry and Catalysis” (Prof. Dr. J. I. van der Vlugt) within the Inorganic Chemistry Department as soon as possible. The PhD position is limited to 3 years and should result in a dissertation.
Requirement:
- Candidate must have completed academic university degree (diploma (not of a University of Applied Sciences) or master).
- Applications are open to a chemist (m, f, d) with practical skills in organo-element chemistry or coordination chemistry.
- The research focus will be on ligand-centered redox chemistry for main group element-based catalysis. Relevant expertise with the necessary analytical and spectroscopic methods (NMR, XRD, IR, UV-vis, MS, CV) are well-regarded.
- Willingness to learn quantum mechanical calculation methods and to support students is of advantage. Good German and / or English language skills are required.
Applications:
Applications to be sent via e-mail to jarl.ivar.van.der.vlugt@uni-oldenburg.de with the documents and questions related to the specific content of these projects.
