Doctoral in Earth Sciences at E2S UPPA: Energy Environment Solutions( E2S), University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) and the University of Pau, France invited applications from highly qualified for filling up the Ph.D Position under Dr. Nicolas Beaudoin, Prof. Jean-Paul Callot, funded by the project E2S UPPA (Energy Environment Solutions) which has a core scientific domain focused on Environment and Energy to meet challenges related to the energy transition, geo-resources, aquatic habitats and the environmental effects of natural and anthropogenic changes.
Project: This project aims at better considerate the distribution of stress magnitudes in deformed sedimentary rocks. In the case study of the Apennines, Umbria-Marches, tectonic shortening was accommodated by fracture development and/or by pressure solution depending of the nature of the carbonate.
Project goals: (A) to test the applicability of the tectonic stylolite roughness inversion method on natural case study, and
(B) to reconstruct a temporal evolution of the stress magnitude distribution prevailing in the strata during the formation of a fold-thrust belt.
