  • The student will use the existing in vitro and in vivo experimental models of cellular reprogramming and rejuvenation, and in time, they will contribute towards developing novel approaches.
  • Performing experiments, analysing and interpreting data
  • Remaining up to date with the literature
  • Working with other members of the laboratory to learn techniques and collaborate on parallel projects
  • Regular communication and presentation of results/progress in meetings and seminars

 Requirements:

  • Degree in Biology or Biochemistry; Master in Biomedicine or related subject
  • High level of spoken and written English
  • High capacity for teamwork, good record keeping, and ability to communicate observations
  • Candidates who possess previous experience of Preparation and use of retroviral/lentiviral vectors for shRNA knockdown or over-expression; Cell culture, in particular with stem/progenitor cells; Cellular reprogramming of somatic cells to induced Pluripotent Stem cells (iPS); Analysis of RNA/protein gene expression by qPCR/Western blotting; FACS analysis; Confocal immunofluorescence (in particular for co-localization and use of ImageJ software)
  • Experience with vertebrate embryonic development (e.g. human, mouse, or chicken)

How to apply:

  • Applications must include a full CV and a Motivation Letter and to be sent by e-mail to: irbjobs@irbbarcelona.org with the Reference: PREDOC/19/03
