The University of Konstanz has open Doctoral position in Limnic Microbiology in the Research Training Group R3 (part-time 65%, E 13 TV-L). Reference number 2020/044. The anticipated starting date is May 1st, 2020. The position is available for three years.
About the research group:
- In the group of Prof. Dr. David Schleheck and as part of the RTG “R3 – Responses to biotic and abiotic changes, Resilience and Reversibility of lake ecosystems”, a doctoral research position is available on the topic “Characterization of the ecological role of the sulfur-for-phosphorus strategy for freshwater phytoplankton”.
Responsibilities:
- Independent development of the research project with own ideas and enthusiasm under the guidance of the PhD Advisory Committee
- Active participation in the activities of the RTG R3 (training courses, annual retreat, etc.)
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold excellent Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Ecology, Biology, Physics, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Mathematics depending on RTG project.
- Applicant must demonstrate strong motivation
- Applicant must have very good communication skills and the ability for teamwork
- Applicant must possess fluency in English (oral and written)
