Durham Doctoral Studentships are offered by the Faculty of Arts & Humanities to award a limited number of Doctoral Studentships (DDS) to international and home/EU postgraduate researchers of exceptional ability for entry in October 2018.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • The awards are tenable for 3 years, full-time or 05 years, part-time
  • annual maintenance allowance
  • in addition, departments may be able to offer paid teaching and/or research assistance opportunities

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must hold Ist class or very good 2:1 undergraduate degree or an MA (completed or in progress) in a relevant subject area at distinction or near- distinction level
  • Applicant must hold exceptional academic record and research potential
  • Applicant must propose a high-quality research project that can be completed within 3 years
  • To be eligible for DDS, applicant must apply to one of the Faculty’s departments for the 2018–19 A.Y.
