Electron Microscopy Facility (m/f) at Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen calls for applications for the position of Head/Scientist. Facility is looking for a highly interdisciplinary scientist (m/f) with remarkable research accomplishments and a comprehensive methodological repertoire. Research in this institute addresses vital questions of modern biology at the molecular, cellular, and organismic level.

The Electron Microscopy facility has suitable staff trained in specimen preparation and image processing. Instrumentation comprises two electron microscopes and dedicated machines for high-pressure freezing, freeze-substitution and sectioning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• PhD in the Life Sciences, Biophysics or a relevant field and have comprehensive experience in the area of cellular and immuno-electron microscopy.
• Knowledge in molecular cryo-electron microscopy is required.
• As a head of the facility (m/f) you are expected to set procedures, operate and maintain the facility, work together with the research groups and provide leadership to scientists and graduate students on campus. Close association with the University of Tübingen should be deepened and extended with your efforts.
• The successful candidate will give recommendations on the upgradation and modernization of the facility.
