European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Petsalaki research group at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). The recipient will use high throughput biological datasets, data integration and statistical modelling to study the global cell signaling responses in healthy and disease conditions.
Location: EMBL-EBI Hinxton near Cambridge, UK
Duration: initially for 2 years; possibility of a fixed-term extension.

Qualifications and Experience
- Applicant must be highly motivated, goal-oriented who performs well working both independently and in collaborative interdisciplinary projects.
- Applicant must have a deep interest in studying complex biological processes using large-scale biological datasets and be willing to learn new methods and technologies, as required, to successfully complete a project.
- Applicant must have Doctoral degree in biology, bioinformatics, physics, computer science, engineering or a related field.
- Applicant must have broad experience in programming (Python, Perl and/or R at minimum); expertise with widely used bioinformatics tools and biological databases; information in basic statistics.
- Applicant must possess excellent communication skills in English (written and oral).
Desirable:
- Mathematical modelling of cell processes;
- Development of user-friendly interfaces, web pages and/or bioinformatics tools;
- Analysis and handling of proteomics and phospho-proteomics datasets;
- Data-driven network inference from high throughput datasets including gene expression or proteomics datasets.
