Applications to a 3 year early stage researcher (ESR/PhD) position in medical image analysis and image-guided laparoscopic surgery are invited by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering (IME). The project is within the EU project HiPerNav (High Performance soft-tissue Navigation), a Marie Curie ITN funded project.
This project (HiPerNav) will prepare 16 ESRs (biomedical engineers and medical doctors) to become international leaders in key areas of expertise
Qualifications:
- Applicant, at the time of recruitment by the host organization must be in the first 4 years of his/her research careers and not been awarded a PhD degree
- Applicant must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of their host organization for more than a year in the 3 years immediately before the reference date.
- Applicant must hold master’s degree in computer science or equivalent (informatics, electro, medical cybernetics, biophysics or mathematics with significant programming skills).
- Applicants must possess proficiency in written and spoken English (who do not master a Scandinavian language).
- The following tests can be used as such documentation: TOEFL/IELTS/CAE or CPE
Desirable:
- Special interests for and aptitude within medical technology, ultrasound and medical imaging, development of technology for improved image guided patient diagnostics and therapy, practical experience with research methods, and R&D work at research institutes, universities and/or the health sector can be advantageous.
