Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme (LEXS): These scholarships are for excellent and talented Non-EU/EEA students enrolling at the Leiden University Master’s / PhD degree program. The scholarships are open for  all nationalities.

  4. Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in Public International Law
  5. Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Civil & Commercial Law
  6. Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in Law & Digital Technologies
  7. Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in European Tax Law
  8. Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in European & International Human Rights Law
  9. Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Children’s Rights
  10. MSc in International Relations & Diplomacy

Scholarship Amount

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme has three awards:

  1. € 10.000 of the tuition fee
  2. € 15.000 of the tuition fee
  3. Total tuition fee minus the statutory tuition fee (also referred to as home fee)

Key dates: Applications are accepted all over the year depending on the course taken.

Application Procedure: If you have already submitted your online application for admission to Leiden University, but would still like to apply for the LExS scholarship, we kindly request you to submit the LExS motivation letter to the Scholarships department (by sending an e-mail to scholarships@sea.leidenuniv.nl, stating “LExS motivation letter” in your subject) before the deadline.
