A PhD fellowship in forensic epigenetics, Department of Forensic Medicine (Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences- SUND) at the University of Copenhagen is inviting application from qualifies candidates. The project will be supervised by Professor Niels Morling, (Department of Forensic Medicine) and the Co-supervisor is Senior advisor Claus Børsting, (Section of Forensic Genetics).
Duration: 3 year PhD fellowship
Starting Date: 1 October 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter
Qualifications:
- Applicant must hold Master´s degree in genetics, biology, medicine, or a related field.
- Applicant must be proficient in English language and must have excellent communication skills.
- Applicant must have the capabilities to work in an interdisciplinary environment and should be ready to travel for performing experiments abroad.
Job description
- Carry through an independent research project under the guidance.
- Write scientific articles and the Doctorate thesis on the grounds of research project.
- Complete PhD courses or other equivalent education corresponding to approx. 30 ECTS points.
- Obtain experience with teaching or other types of dissemination related to the project work.
- Take part in the UG teaching of students in forensic genetics.
- Actively participate in national and international congresses and scientific meetings.
- Stay at an external research institution, preferably abroad.
