FRASCAL Research programme: 11 PhD and 1 postdoc position 2168 views

Fracture across Scales (FRASCAL) offers 11 doctoral positions in projects P1 through P11 and 1 postdoctoral position in project P12.

Starting date: January 1st, 2019

About the research programme:

  • The programme will offer the possibility to perform research within an interdisciplinary team in a highly innovative and active research area comprising mechanics, material sciences, mathematics, chemistry, and physics.
  • Two principal advisors (PAs) will guide scholar as mentors through the research project.
  • The research programme, FRASCAL’s dedicated qualification programme will offer mini lectures, soft skills training and RTG seminars, as well as RTG retreats, alumni & visitor workshops and mini symposia.
  • Candidates may apply for up to three doctoral projects within FRASCAL.
Doctoral Positions – Project P1 to P11

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must either hold or are about to obtain a M.Sc. degree in one of the following areas: mechanics, material sciences, mathematics, chemistry, physics, or in a closely related field
  • Applicant must possess proficiency in the English language; knowledge of the German language would be advantageous.
  • Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and are able to work in a team
Postdoctoral Position – Project P12

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must either hold or are about to obtain a Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: mechanics, material sciences, mathematics, chemistry, physics, or in a closely related field
  • Applicant must possess proficiency in English language; knowledge of the German language is welcome
  • Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and are able to work in a team
