FSERA- Faculty of Science and Engineering Research Awards: Faculty of Science and Engineering offers a few research awards to applicants for postgraduate research scholarships. Faculty of Science and Engineering Research Awards are tenable at Flinders University for up to 3 years for a PhD by research, or up to two years for a Master’s degree. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree may be deducted from the maximum period of tenure.

The award will only be obtainable to applicants who will begin or are continuing their Master’s degree by research or PhD by research in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Award Benefits of FSERA:
  • Stipend: approximately $26,288/year; tax free
  • Research Training Scheme (RTS) place
  • RTS place provides an exemption from tuition fees.
  • International Students are not entitled for an RTS place
Eligibility:
  • Applicant must be Australian national or New Zealand national or have been granted permanent resident at the last date of applications.
  • International student who has completed an Honour’s degree or equivalent qualification at an Australian University not more than 2 years earlier to the application closing date may also apply or
  • Have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement and have an appropriate Honour’s UG degree.
  • Applicant must enroll as full-time students in the Faculty of Science and Engineering or will begin or continuing a Master’s degree by research or Doctorate by research.
  • Applicants must have had their candidature accepted in the area in which they propose to undertake their studies.
  • This award will normally be offered on the basis of academic merit and research potential to the highest-ranked appropriate PG research scholarship applicants, who do not receive an Australian Postgraduate Award or Flinders University Research Scholarship.
