United States-India Educational Foundation offers the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowships. These fellowships aim to provide Indian faculty, researchers, and professionals residing in India the opportunity to teach, conduct research, or carry out a combination of lecturing and research at a U.S. institution.
Duration: 4 to 9 months
Flex Award duration: minimum 4 months and the maximum 6 months.
Flex Awards
- for scholars who require multiple visits to the U.S. and for those who find it difficult to leave their home institutions during the academic year
- the option allows grants to be conducted over short segments, preferably during the fall and/or spring semesters

Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant (Faculty/researchers) must hold Ph.D. degree or equivalent published work with at least 5 years of relevant teaching/research experience;
- Applicants who are professionals outside academe must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent published work with recognized professional standing and at least five years relevant experience;
- Applicant must upload a recent significant publication (copy of paper/article) in the online application; and
- Applicant, if employed, at the time of submitting the application must obtain the endorsement from the appropriate administrative authority on the FNAPE Employer’s Endorsement Form.
