Genentech Research Fellowships: Age-related Macular Degeneration 1820 views

ARVO Foundation for Eye Research offers Genentech Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) Research Fellowships. These fellowships were initiated in 2011.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must not exceed 45 of age at the application deadline.
  • Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, DVM, DO, OD or equivalent degree received after 2007.
  • Applicant must serve as the Principal Investigator on the project
  • There are NO geographical restrictions
  • Applicants are not required to be members of ARVO
  • Applicants must currently be working in non-profit or academic research centers
  • Candidates who have previously received the award are not eligible to apply.

Number of Fellowships: 2

Fellowships value: $40,000 each will be awarded.

Distribution of fellowships:

  • One fellowship will be awarded in basic research in the understanding of AMD, and
  • The other fellowship will be awarded in translational AMD research focusing on therapeutics (not yet in clinical trials)

Duration of Grants: 01 year and must commence within six months of award notification.

  • Description of applicant’s vision for future research and its anticipated impact related to AMD (1 page).

  • NIH biosketch or equivalent
  • Signature form signed by principal investigator, department head and administrative official.
