Getty Library Research Grants provide limited, short-term support for costs relating to travel and living expenses for scholars whose research requires use of specific collections housed in the Getty Research Institute. A Library Research Grant is not a precondition for gaining access to the Research Library
Eligibility:
- The Grants are meant for scholars of all nationalities and at any level who prove a persuasive need to use materials housed in the Research Library.
- Applicant’s place of residence must be more than 80 miles from the Getty Center.
- The proposed project must relate to specific items in the library collection.
Grant value:
- partial support for costs related to travel and living expenses
- Grants range from $800-$3,000 (depending on the distance traveled)
Duration: several days to 3 months (maximum).
