University of Brighton offers global opportunities scholarships for postgraduate taught study on selected courses.

Scholarship value: up to £15,000 to cover living costs and a fee waiver

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must have received an academic offer for postgraduate study starting in September 2016 on one of the eligible courses
  • Applicant must be an asylum seeker, or you have been refused asylum but have been granted some other form of temporary status eg. humanitarian protection, unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) leave or limited leave
  • Applicant must be currently staying in East or West Sussex
  • Applicant must show need to access postgraduate finance through the current UK Government student finance system

Requirements:

  • Evidence to show immigration status as an asylum seeker includes an Application Registration Card (ARC) or Home Office documentation confirming that applicant have made a claim for asylum.
  • Evidence to show status following a refusal of asylum includes your biometric residence permit and a letter from the Home Office confirming grant of status.
