Glue Grant Scheme: The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) is pleased to declare its 2nd call for proposals for the Glue Grant Scheme targeting to link Basic, Clinical and Public Health Research. Funding will be granted to challenging and ambitious inter-disciplinary proposals that channel the gap between lab or field research and its application to clinical and policy outcomes.

The call is open to all research institutes, clinical set ups, educational and training institutions. This aims to build a sustainable association ship promoting growth and outreach of interdisciplinary science.

Selection Procedure:

Applying for the Glue Grant involves two stages:

  • Ist stage: DBT invites applicants to submit a Letter of Intent (proposal description in prescribed format) in hard copy as well as soft copy.
  • A panel of external assessors will evaluate the Letter of Intent and select the most promising proposals towards a full application.
  • IInd Stage: The shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a detailed proposal as per specified format through department’s online application portal.

Eligibility for Application:

  • Collaborative Research: The partners must recognize domains (up to 3) within which their research proposal will be developed. For each domain, there should be an explanation on why the domain is selected, overall program direction and approach to identifying the key questions. Details must be given for the contribution, expertise and research experience of each partner.
  • Each partner must have an established interest in the area of collaborative research as evidenced by publications and acknowledged expertise.
  • The proposal must have precisely defined long-term R&D strategy.
