Halmstad University is a moderate sized university. It is a young university of great multiplicity, where many fields of study are offered to students of all interests.

Requirements for International Students:

Bachelor’s level requirements

• Applicant must have successfully completed their upper secondary (high school) education.
• Applicant must be able to demonstrate proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognized test (TOEFL, IELTS or the equivalent).

Master’s level requirements

• Applicant must have been awarded a Bachelor’s degree from an internationally recognized university.
• Applicant must be able to demonstrate proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognized test (TOEFL/IELTS or the equivalent).
• Swedish language requirements: If applicant wish to take courses in Swedish information must be provided about knowledge in the Swedish language (provide grades from Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent) or by taking the Swedish proficiency test, TISUS

Documentation Requirements for admission in Halmstad University:

• International students must send supporting documents directly to University Admissions, after submitting the online application.
• For Basic level studies: Records upper-secondary education (certified copies of the diploma, transcript of all subjects and grades).
• For Advanced level/Master studies: Certificates from previous education at an internationally recognized university, grade transcripts (including course list).
• Proof of proficiency in English
• Copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph, or some other identification document.

Application and Admission

• All applications for higher education studies in Sweden are made online. There are no other application forms available
• Application deadlines: For the SPRING semester: from 1^st June to 15 August. For the AUTUMN semester: from 16^th October to 15^th January.
