Heavy-Ion Physics: PhD position; UiB 1463 views

Department of Physics and Technology within experimental heavy-ion physics has a vacancy for a PhD position. The position is for a fixed-term period of 4 years. The position is associated with the Norwegian ALICE project at CERN, funded by the Norwegian Research Council.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have a master’s degree or the equivalent in experimental heavy-ion physics or high-energy subatomic physics
  • Applicant must have submitted the master’s thesis for evaluation prior to applying for the position.
  • Applicant must have the skills to work independently and in a structured manner and demonstrate good collaborative skills.
  • Applicant must have excellent proficiency English (written and oral).
  • Applicant must have hands-on experience in programming skills with experience in data analysis or simulations are essential.

About the position:

  • Duration: 4 years, of which 25% of the time each year comprises compulsory duties associated with research, teaching and dissemination of results.
