Position 1: Research Associate/Robotics Software Engineer
The School of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the school of Mathematics and Computer Science are recruiting a robotics software engineer to work on developing high impact robotics demonstrators of our research targeting industrial sponsors and the public.
Position 2: Research Associate in Advanced Optical Communication and Imaging Lab (AOCIL)
Recruiting a Research Associate to work on a project funded by the Quantum Communication hub Partnership Resource Fund (PRF) and led by the AOCIL. The successful candidate will carry out experimental investigation on high speed secure optical communication system based on optical code scrambling and signal processing technologies.
Position 3: Research Associate in Ultrafast Nonlinear Optics
Recruiting a Research Associate to work on the XSOL project, funded by the European Research Council under a Consolidator Grant. Candidate will join a team that will be exploring extreme strong-field physics at the fundamental limits of spatio-temporal confinement by scaling soliton-driven light sources in hollow capillary fibres by two orders of magnitude in power compared to the state of the art.
Position 4: Research Associate in Deep Learning and Optimisation for Extreme-Scale Computational Imaging
The BASP group is developing cutting-edge research on all aspects of computational imaging, from theory and algorithms, to applications in astronomy and medicine and are currently recruiting multiple postdoctoral research associates for research on deep learning and optimisation for extreme-scale computational imaging.
Position 5: Research Associate in Medical Devices Manufacturing (Maternity cover)

Recruiting a KTP Associate who will rapidly embrace the body of knowledge vested in the Heriot-Watt research team in high-power mid-infrared slab lasers and will grasp the technical challenges of optimising every single design parameter to achieve reliable, high-power laser operation of these specialist lasers.
