ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (ICAR-IVRI) invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Research Associate at division of Bacteriology and Mycology. The position is purely on temporary and contractual basis, co-terminus with the project and will be liable for termination at any time in case of the unsatisfactory performance of the candidate.

Duration of the Project: Till June, 2018 or termination of the project, whichever is earlier.

Project title: cctA and hyalruonidase gene mutants of Clostridium chauvoei: Construction and evaluation of vaccine potential (NASF).

Essential qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold PhD in Veterinary Bacteriology/ Veterinary Immunology/Veterinary Microbiology/ Animal Biotechnology/ Animal Biochemistry/ Microbiology/Biochemistry/ Biotechnology. OR
  • Applicant must hold Master’s degree in above mentioned subjects (with 4 years/ 5 years bachelor’s degree) having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent OGPA, with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements.
  • Candidates with 3 years Bachelor’s degree must have professional Masters degree (3 years) in the relevant subjects and at least two years of research experience or Master’s degree in above mentioned subjects along with N.E.T. qualification and at least 2 years of research experience.

Desirable qualification:

  • Applicant must possess working knowledge in microbiology, bacterial mutants, tools such as gene cloning, expression, cell culture, handling of lab animals and analysis of data.
  • Applicant must have publications in high impact factor journals.

Remunerations:

  • 38,000/- per month for Master’s degree holders;
  • 40,000/- per month for PhD degree holders.
  • HRA as per ICAR rules.

Age limit: applicant must not exceed 40 years for men and 45 years for women.
