ICERM (Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics) brings early-career mathematicians to the institute in order to support and expand their research and to create lasting career associations and connections.
There are three ways to participate as a Postdoctoral Fellow in an ICERM semester program:
Fall Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship:
- ICERM has one opening for its 9-month appointment, commencing in September 2017.
- The Institute Postdoc will participate in the fall 2017 “Mathematical and Computational Challenges in Radar and Seismic Reconstruction” semester program and remain as a researcher-in-residence during the spring 2018 semester.
- The Postdoc will receive a nine-month stipend of $52,000, with stipend benefits and a travel allowance of $1,500; additional summer support may be available in 2018.
Fall Semester Postdoctoral Fellowships:
- Number of openings: 05; semester-long positions.
- These positions are intended for those who would like to participate in the fall 2017 semester program: “Mathematical and Computational Challenges in Radar and Seismic Reconstruction”.
- The Semester Postdocs receive a stipend of $26,000 over 04 months, with stipend benefits and a travel allowance of $750.
Postdoctoral Visitors:
- Postdoc researchers with support from their home institutions may apply for travel and/or lodging support to participate in an ICERM semester program
Eligibility:
- Applicants must hold PhD within three years of the start of the appointment.
- Applicant’s research statement must clearly mention interest in the fall semester program
- Applicant’s applying for the Institute postdoc position must submit the research statement outlining the research plans for work to be done as “researcher-in-residence” during the spring 2018 semester.
- Documentation of completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree in mathematics or a related area by the start of the appointment is required.
