Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITK) is an Institute of national importance requires faculty (Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor) for its various academic units.

The Institute invites application from eligible Indian nationals or Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) possessing excellent academic record, for carrying out outstanding research & development for the following Departments / Centres / Schools:

3. Chemical Engineering,
4. Civil Engineering,
5. Computer Science and Engineering,
6. Earth Sciences,
7. Economic Sciences,
8. Electrical Engineering,
9. Humanities and Social Sciences,
10. Industrial and Management Engineering,
11. Materials Science and Engineering,
12. Mechanical Engineering,
13. Mathematics and Statistics,
14. Chemistry and Physics.

Requirements / Qualifications for the Post :

1. Ph.D. with Ist class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch
2. Very good academic record throughout.
3. Relevant experience according to the Government norms

In addition, for:

Professor: Ten (10) years teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 04 years should be at the level ofAssociate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs.

Associate Professor: Six (06) years Teaching/Research/Industrial experience of which at least 03 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor, Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer.

Assistant Professor: Minimum three (03) years Industrial/Research/Teaching experience, excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.

Note: For a fresh Ph.D. the position will be on contract basis for the first three (03) years and will be regularized afterwards. For those with three or more years of teaching/research/industrial experience regular appointment may be made.
