Indo-Russia Joint (DBT-REMS) Call for Proposals (2017-19)

Outline

Under recently concluded Program of Cooperation (PoC), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology (MST), India alongwith Russian Ministry of Education and Science (RMES), Russia invites Joint Research Proposals in the field of Biotechnology.

AIMS / OBJECTIVES

The objective of this program is to:

  1. Broaden and deepen cooperation in Science and Technology in the field of Biotechnology;
  2. To encourage industrial R&D and related investment flows, bilaterally and/or regionally in the field of Biotechnology
  3. To promote transparency through exchange of information and cooperation among relevant institutions.

PRIORITY RESEARCH AREAS:

The calls are open in the area of Biotechnology, the following research areas will be given priority in the present call for proposal:

  1. Genomic & Proteomics Instrumentation
  2. Nano-Devices
  3. Bioenergy – Photosynthesis based
  4. Bio-reagents

General considerations:

  1. Proposals are submitted for translational research / proof of concept for technology development will be given preferences.
  2. Proposals from an Indian industry having two collaboration with an Indian academic institution will be preferred.
  3. Proposals submitted in other research areas will NOT be considered

DURATION The duration of a project will be three years only.

ELIGIBILITY / WHO CAN APPLY

  1. The Principal investigators (PI) from Indian academic or industrial Institutions or organizations of each side who fulfill national eligibility rules for research grant application are eligible to apply.
  2. Non-resident Indians (NRIs) are NOT eligible to apply.
