INFANT: Postdoctoral research fellow at UCC 1381 views

The Irish Centre for Fetal and Translational Research’ (INFANT) at University College Cork (UCC) is inviting applications from a talented and motivated scientist at postdoctoral level to join Jane English’s Laboratory. INFANT’s aim is to meet the urgent unmet clinical need for screening tests, diagnostics, therapeutics and devices for the early identification, diagnosis and effective treatment of perinatal complications and associated adverse outcomes in pregnancy, birth and the neonatal period.

About the project:
  • Project: Biomarker Discovery and Validation in Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • The project is a HRB funded Biomarker Discovery Programme in Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • This is an international collaborative research project accessing rare cord blood samples from several international birth cohorts.
  • The selected candidate will be an active member of the biomarker team primarily undertaking proteomic and metabolomic analysis of cord blood samples for both biomarker discovery and validation.
  • A solid background in mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography is desirable. Post Duration: 3 years (with possibility to renew for 4th year)

Qualifications:

  • The candidate should hold a PhD in the area of proteomics and/or metabolomics, and biological mass spectrometry.
