The University of Melbourne International Fellowships is open to international and domestic students, to pursue graduate, undergraduate and research program in the Faculty of Economics and Business at Melbourne Business School.

The University of Melbourne aims to assist international students who need financial help with fellowships.

Candidates must have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a 4-year honours degree at an Australian university with a minimum result of first class honours.

Undergraduate

A.G. Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Fellowship: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Bachelor of Commerce Global Fellowship: A 20% fee remission fellowship for the duration of the course.

Bertalli Family Foundation Fellowships:

  • $5,000 per annum for the duration of the course.
  • Each fellowship will be awarded for up to 3 years at a time or the normal duration of an undergraduate commerce degree.

Chancellor’s Scholars Program:

  • Domestic students: You will receive a Melbourne National Fellowship, valued up to approximately $40,500 (depending on your undergraduate degree).
  • International students: You will be eligible for consideration for fellowships ranging from full fee remission to $10,000 fee remission.

Commerce at International House Fellowship: The fellowship is to provide financial assistance for residency at International House for the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce, valued at $20,000.

Commerce International Undergraduate Merit Fellowships: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Commerce Opportunity Bursary:

  • $15,000 per annum for the duration of the course
  • Each bursary will be awarded for up to three years at a time or the normal duration of an undergraduate commerce degree.

Douglas Family Fellowship: Each fellowship will be awarded for up to three years at a time or the normal duration of an undergraduate commerce degree.

First In the Family Fellowships:

  • $10,000 for the normal duration of studies in Bachelor of Commerce (three years)
  • Recipients will automatically be admitted into the Abernethy Scholars Program. This program provides an academic mentoring opportunity with Professor Margaret Abernethy, Sir Douglas Copland Chair of Commerce and former Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics
  • The beneficiaries will also be given priority consideration for residency at Ormond College.

International Undergraduate Partner Fellowships: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

The Dawn Wade Fellowship: Valued at a maximum of $22 000 per annum for the normal duration of the Bachelor of Commerce (three years) and is payable directly to International House.

The Priestley Family Access Fellowship: Valued at a maximum of $25,000 per annum for the full-time (three years) duration of the Bachelor of Commerce and is payable directly at Ormond College.

Wade Family Commerce Fellowships at Ormond College: The fellowship is to provide residency at Ormond College for the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce, valued at $13,000.

Graduate

A.G. Whitlam Graduate Merit Fellowship: 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

International Graduate Merit Fellowships: Ranging between 25% – 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

International Postgraduate Coursework Awards: The International Postgraduate Coursework Awards offers 25% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Local Graduate Merit Fellowships: Ranging between 25% – 50% fee remission for the duration of the course.

Research

Queen’s College Ph.D. Fellowship: Successful applicants will:

  • Receive the title of Graduate Research Scholar, in residence at Queen’s College, The University of Melbourne
  • Receive $2000 of fellowship funding towards residency expenses at Queen’s College in 2012
  • Be considered for casual work opportunities at Queen’s College in 2012.

University of Melbourne Research Fellowship: The University awards over 300 fellowships per year.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate

A.G. Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Fellowship: A.G. Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Fellowships are available to international students commencing the Bachelor of Commerce from one of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Bertalli Family Foundation Fellowships: Available through the generosity of the Bertalli Family Foundation, the Fellowships are available to assist high achieving students who completed school in a rural or isolated area in transitioning to living in Melbourne and tertiary study.

Bachelor of Commerce Global Fellowship: The Faculty of Business and Economics has established a number of fellowships for international students enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce.

Commerce at International House Fellowship: Available through the generosity of anonymous donors, the Commerce at International House is available to students commencing the Bachelor of Commerce, who currently reside in rural or regional Victoria and who intend to live at International House in their first year.

Chancellor’s Scholars Program: The Chancellor’s Scholars Program is available to high-achieving students enrolled in the following undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Biomedicine, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science.

Commerce Opportunity Bursary: Available through the generosity of an alumni donor, the Bursaries are available to Victorian residents who apply for entry into the Bachelor of Commerce to assist high achieving students who are in financial need, or are otherwise disadvantaged. It encompasses a program to foster the academic and personal development of the recipients, through the ongoing support of the Commerce Opportunity Network.

Commerce International Undergraduate Merit Fellowships: The Commerce Undergraduate International Merit Fellowships are available to international students commencing the Bachelor of Commerce.

Douglas Family Fellowship: Available through the generosity of the Douglas Family, the Fellowship is available to assist high achieving students who are in financial need in transitioning to tertiary study.

First In the Family Fellowships: The First in the Family Fellowships are awarded to Bachelor of Commerce students who will be the first in their family to attend university and who have experienced disadvantage.

International Undergraduate Partner Fellowships: The Undergraduate Fellowships are available through the generosity of the late Arthur Gordon Whitlam, and are funded by the A.G Whitlam Trust.

The Dawn Wade Fellowship: Available through the generosity of the Dawn Wade Foundation, the Fellowships are available to assist high achieving students who completed school in a rural or isolated area in transitioning to living in Melbourne and tertiary study by providing residency costs at one of the University’s prestigious colleges.

The Priestley Family Access Fellowship: The Priestley Family Access Fellowship has been established to assist a student entering the Bachelor of Commerce under Special Entry Access scheme (SEAS) who have applied for residency at Ormond College.

Wade Family Commerce Fellowships at Ormond College: The Wade Family Fellowships at Ormond College support two students entering the Faculty of Business and Economics to study the Bachelor of Commerce.

Graduate

International Postgraduate Coursework Awards: Available each year to commencing International Masters coursework applicants.

A.G. Whitlam Graduate Merit Fellowship: The A.G Whitlam Graduate Fellowships are available to all students, local and international, who apply to a Masters coursework degree.

International Graduate Merit Fellowships: International Graduate Merit Fellowships are available to all international students who apply to a coursework program within The Faculty of Business & Economics.

Local Graduate Merit Fellowships: Local Graduate Merit Fellowships are available to all local students who apply to a coursework program within The Faculty of Business & Economics.

Research

Queen’s College Ph.D. Fellowship: Applicants must have enrolled in a Ph.D. in the Graduate School of Business and Economics commencing in 2012.

University of Melbourne Research Fellowship: The Melbourne Research Fellowship (MRS) was established by the University of Melbourne and is awarded to high achieving domestic and international research students.

Nationality: University of Melbourne Fellowships are open to domestic and international students.

English Language Requirement: Applicants must have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a 4-year honours degree at an Australian university with a minimum result of first class honours.
