International Giessen Graduate Centre for the Life Sciences (GGL) invites applicants for the PhD Programs in the Life Sciences.

Duration: The Doctoral Programs comprise of an experimental project combined with a 3 year interdisciplinary graduate course curriculum leading to a dissertation.

About the Doctoral Program:
  • All PhD researchers will be mentored by two professors from different faculties and will benefit from the PhD Development Program.
  • Official language is English (for Seminars and courses); although German language courses are offered for international students.
  • Depending on the project and applicants qualifications, researcher may receive a stipend and may be eligible to register for one of the doctoral degrees offered at the Justus Liebig University Giessen.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must have Master’s degree or equivalent for admission.
  • If applicant neither has a supervisor nor a research project, then he/she will be considered as an external candidate. As an external candidate, applicant will have to apply for one of the research projects that are currently offered and have been posted by the prospective supervisors.
  • If applicant already has a prospective supervisor and project, confirmed with a letter of recommendation and project outline, applicant qualifies as an internal candidate.
