Master thesis: Understanding human metacognitive learning 861 views

The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems – Rationality Enhancement Group is inviting applications for a Master thesis (m/f/d) on understanding human metacognitive learning. This position can be started as soon as possible.

Tasks:
  • Design, program and conduct online experiments using HTML / Javascript and manage deployment as an Web Application
  • Perform scientific data analysis on the collected data (Python or R) to test the hypothesis that metacognitive learning involves reinforcement learning mechanisms
  • Do literature research
  • Write up methods and findings for publication in scientific articles
  • Communicate findings

Requirements:

  • Strong HTML / JavaScript skills
  • Intermediate data analytics (Python or R) skills
  • Strong academic background in the field of cognitive science and machine learning with solid knowledge in reinforcement learning
  • Enrolled at a university
  • Fluent in English
